This stuff really stinks: someone is in trouble with their taxes with the IRS, their state taxes, or both. They seek the help of a ‘tax relief’ group that charges big upfront fees, then stall for months and then disappear into the woodwork, leaving the taxpayer in worse shape than when they started. When the IRS and other authorities find these guys they should throw the book (hopefully a phone book or the encyclopedia Brittania) at them and make them think twice about doing this again.
