As a result of the fiscal cliff legislation being passed so late, some 2012 items were still in limbo and will take time for some IRS and state tax forms to be reworked, resulting in tax season starting much later than usual for many. Filings may be delayed at couple of weeks at least for the normal early filers. See this article in Accounting Today by Michael Cohn:
