CPA Tax Musings: AICPA Prods Congress to Pass Tax Extenders

More talk about the 2014 Tax Extenders!  The AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) has written a letter to Congress requesting them to address the tax extenders they have been putting off sooner rather than later.  The AICPA feels that waiting until the last minute (again) will cause complications and delays (as usual) in tax planning and filing.  See Michael Cohn’s report in Accounting Today:

The delays, partisan or not, always come with a price – delays in IRS forms, delays in software updates, delays in filing, delays in issuing refunds or paying taxes.  Maybe this time Congress will get with it and get these extenders passed (it is almost time to put off extending items expiring in 2014)!
