Brian’s Tax Musings – Loss of the Making Work Pay Credit
Just a reminder for the 2011 tax year – The Making Work Pay Credit no longer exists! Congress replaced it in 2011 with the 2% social security tax reduction (I am sure you have heard of that.) So you will lose a $400 (single) or $800 (married joint) tax credit on this year’s tax return. So don’t blame your preparer if your refund is less this year! You can count on us to count for you!
