Hey people, just a reminder.  If you have employees or are self employed, this year is the year of the 2% social security tax reduction.  For 2011 only, you reduce your employee’s social security withholding down to 4.2% and your self employment tax down from 15.3% to 13.3%.  If you have questions about this, be sure to email me at bstonercpa@sbcglobal.net and we can discuss it.

Have you called your accountant lately?  Even if it is just to say hello, it is time to reestablish communication.  You can let him or her know some of the things that have happened to you during the year; possibly things that can affect your 2011 taxes.  Update him or her and maybe a tax situation you didn’t know about will come to light – and there may still be time to do something about it!
