You can still contribute to an IRA for 2010 by April 18. If you have a SEP or another self employed retirement plan, if you file an extension, you have until October 17 to make the contribution.

Here is an update on the Senate repealing the 1099 rules for 2012. Sounds like they are going to support the House bill already passed.
