Create an Easy, Head-Turning Elevator Speech

You’re sitting in a room with 30 other business entrepreneurs. Each of you has on minute to introduce themselves to the group. You are number 25 to speak. Will anyone listen? What can you do or say to catch your peers’ attention, be memorable, and have them approach you for business? Most importantly, what can you do to get every business card in the room wanting what you have (so you can go to fewer networking meetings and get back to running your business)? Remember To Get That Charity Acknowledgment

Please! If you donate over $250 in cash or non-cash items to a charity, make sure you get the letter from the charity detailing and acknowedging the donaton. If you don’t have it and are audited, you are sunk! I saw a court case where lack of a letter cost the taxpayer a 2 million charitable deduction plus a 20% negligence penalty on top of the regular tax, penalty and interest. Not having the letter probably cost the taxpayers at least 1.2 million dollars in tax and negligence penalties (it could have been as much as 2 million dollars once additional penalties and interest were figured in.) All because someone didn’t know the rule of the acknowledgement letter from the charity! For financial, accounting and tax musings,You can count on us to count for you! email bstonercpa@sbcglobal.net phone 818-317-6035 Website www.briantstonercpa.com Follow me on Twitter! @bstonercpa

You may also have questions about new cloud solutions, backing up your critical data, what the difference is between an IT guy and IT Business Advisor and why preventative maintenance support is 100% more efficient than your IT guy stopping by. If you are somewhat frustrated with your current IT support situation, not sure if your data is being backed up, monthly IT costs are all over the map, I would be happy [...]
