Well, you knew it was coming – the post office is losing so much money next year they are closing branches and trying to lay off workers. In this article in the Orange County Register, they talk about specifics including the increase in first class stamps to 45 cents:

In the past there was also talk of getting rid of Saturday delivery, but for sure it sounds like first class mail will not be delivered overnight, even in the same city. Well let’s see what happens.
