I read an article the other day that Congress is supposedly getting serious about trying to adopt a flat tax – valued added tax similar to what Herman Cain (the 9-9-9 man) has been proposing. Apparently they have gotten together a 40 page report about such a tax and are soon going to try to get it to the floor (House or Senate – who knows?) I will believe it when I see it – they can’t even pass a payroll tax reduction they all want.
