What Would You Ask a Former IRS Auditor?

Do all IRS agents think that all taxpayers selected for audit are cheating on their taxes? See this article in CPA Practice Advisor by its editor, Isaac M. O’Bannon:

I for one think that most IRS auditors are people trying to do their job to the best of their ability. I have never met an auditor who I felt was trying to force additional tax revenue out of a client (I will not always say the same for some of those auditors’ managers or supervisors, but that is another story). That being said, it is still wise to have professional representation at an audit so someone who is familiar with procedures is on your side.
