Federal Government Sees Tax Revenues Rise This Year

Gee, who would have thought?  With the expiration of the two percent social security payroll tax holiday, the federal government is showing an increase in tax revenue this year to date.  There were other tax items that increased revenue also.  See this article in AccountingToday by Michael Cohn that gives all the details:

I just think it is interesting that the government treats the social security tax collections as part of revenue when it supposedly goes into the Social Security Trust Fund and is not part of normal government revenue (Oh I forgot, the government raids social security whenever it needs money, like an extra savings account) – silly me!
