How $40k can add $1 million to retirement

This is an interesting little tidbit and a bid to wait another year before taking out your retirement savings.  See this article by Paul Merriman In MarketWatch for The Wall Street Journal:

I look at it this way, compounding can greatly change the amount of retirement distributions over time.  My only question in this example is that if you retire at 65 you have to live to 108 to get the million. (Thirty years seems a more reasonable calculation period.)
